Local Government Drug Issues Forum (LGDIF)
The Local Government Drug Issues Forum is a group of local government practitioners working in the field of local drug and alcohol issues management and other related agencies such as the Department of Human Services, the Hepatitis C Council of Victoria, the Australian Drug Foundation, Anex and Vivaids.  The group meets bi-monthly and looks at current issues and developments in the drug and alcohol sector.  The mailing list for this group is also used to distribute relevant information to the sector.  For further information or to be added to the mailing list contact Emma Fitzclarence, Policy Adviser, efitzclarence@mav.asn.au or Jennifer Torrance, Policy and Project Officer, City of Stonnington, jtorranc@stonnington.vic.gov.au.  

Victorian Safe Communities Network (VSCN)
VSCN is a forum for practitioners, researchers, government and state-wide agencies working in areas such as community based injury prevention and community safety promotion. Issues covered by VSCN member organisations include farm, home, road, workplace and sports injury prevention and child and seniors safety. Crime and violence issues include crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED), safety in public spaces and venues, domestic and public violence and drug and alcohol harm minimisation. The general members of the Network meet quarterly and an executive committee meets bi-monthly.  Contact:

Emergency Management Manual Victoria (EMMV) – Strategy Group
The Emergency Management Manual Victoria (EMMV) gathers together policy and planning documents for emergency management in Victoria, and provides information on what roles different organisations play in emergency management arrangements.  The MAV is represented on the EMMV Strategy Group which meets quarterly to review sections of the manual. 

Victorian Flood Warning Consultative Committee
The Victorian Flood Warning Consultative Committee's role is to identify requirements and to coordinate the development and operation of flood warning services in Victoria. It is an advisory body to the Bureau of Meteorology and participating State Government agencies.  The Committee reports to the Victoria Emergency Management Council and agencies on the VFWCC. The VFWCC also provides advice on flood warning policy to the State Flood Policy Committee. The Bureau of Meteorology provides the secretariat for the VFWCC and the MAV is a member.

Victorian Emergency Management Council
The Victoria Emergency Management Council (VEMC) is a high level committee that supports the Coordinator in Chief in ensuring that adequate emergency management measures are taken by government agencies.  The Victorian Department of Justice provides administrative support to both the Council and Coordinator in Chief.  The MAV is represented on this council and the Municipal Emergency Management Enhancement Group reports to the VEMC.

State Flood Policy Committee
The State Flood Policy Committee has the responsibility of reviewing and reporting to the State Government, through the Victoria Emergency Management Council and the Minister for Water, on the implementation of the Victorian Flood Management Strategy. The Committee is composed of senior representatives from the Department of Sustainability and Environment, VIC SES, Municipal Association of Victoria, Department of Justice, Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology and the Victoria Catchment Management Authorities.
