2012 International Local Government Infrastructure and Asset Management Conference

Strengthening leasdership and influence to deliver real results

While Australian councils still face ongoing challenges in relation to resources and skills availability, their ability to deliver required community outcomes continues unabated. This is largely due to the continuous improvement processes which are embedded across the sector.

While asset and service managers are highly proficient, there is a need to increase the focus on whole-of-council approaches to meet the ongoing challenge of financial sustainability. This involves asset managers presenting information to decision-makers in a strategic context that demonstrates the long-term implications for the council and its communities.

To close the loop, these processes need to be driven by identified community needs and priorities.

In recent years, a growing number of international attendees have been attracted to this event as its reputation for outstanding content has spread far and wide.
