Writing for the web

​This workshop will help you write, edit and present better web content.

Participants will learn how to:

  • write useful content
  • make it easier for people to find information
  • lay out content for scan-reading
  • ensure web content is accessible for everyone

The workshop is suitable for council staff who are involved in writing, editing or managing content for the web. It focuses on writing and does not cover other areas such as information architecture, visual design, mark-up and CSS, scripting, analytics or content management systems.

iPads

iPads will be used during the workshop. You can bring your own or one will be provided for you to share with another participant. If you’re bringing your own iPad please let us know by emailing mavonline@mav.asn.au so we can advise you which apps you’ll need to download before you attend the workshop.

​Presenter Dey Alexander has been working on websites since 1993 in a range of areas including, usability, accessibility and writing. She has conducted hundreds of research sessions (interviews, focus groups, usability testing), allowing her to observe and understand where content and design either works or fails.
