This training series has been designed specifically for local government staff with contract management and procurement functions. Our program is targeted at both introductory and more advanced competency levels so this series will provide you with the most up-to-date knowledge and understanding of procurement within the local government sector.
The Contract Management Excellence Series sees the introduction of three new courses. These courses have been developed and added due to sector demand and will provide local government procurement staff with relevant up-to-date training in line with what is currently being asked of procurement teams across Victoria. These courses are:

- Collaborative Procurement
- Introduction to Category Strategies.

Course Description : Introduction to Category Strategies
This course is designed for procurement managers, category managers and managers of services identified as categories (such as roads, waste etc). The course takes attendees through the core functions of category management, processes, and tools to develop a category management plan and methods and tools for management of categories. It is a general course and does not focus on any particular category.
By the end of the course, staff will have the ability to examine their category, develop a strategy and have an understanding of how to manage a category and introductory level tools used in category management.
