Reinvent.LGov was a skills development event where you will find out about innovations and community-first initiatives from councils from around Australia.

Conference Description

Over the last ten years Australian councils have pioneered new routes to the future by transforming services, programs and processes. Catch up with what works and what doesn't, the tools and tricks, the do's and don'ts, and meet the people who are reinventing the ways local government responds to communities.

The advent of the Network Society is transforming Government. Joined-Up Government is evolving (Government as a Platform) and Business as Usual is so last century. Can local government innovate and collaborate its way out of funding cuts? And does this simply reflect good practice? The challenge is to embed change as the new normal. Councils need to create new community-driven business models using workforce engagement and creative skills to convert silos into workflows. What does it mean to be a contemporary, agile and responsive organisation of the future?

Reinvent.LGov is a skills development event that will include:

  • A galaxy of leading, award-winning case studies of ‘big change’ innovation and ‘community first’ Councils from around Australia (including Ipswich Fire Station 101)
  • Interactive workshops modelling key steps in the innovation process using structured thinking and tools to focus on real life Council transformation challenges
  • National Local Government Innovation Awards:
  • Plenty of takeaways.
