The Department of Justice and Regulation hosted an annual summer preparedness briefing day for council communications and emergency management officers.

Event Description

The Department of Justice and Regulation is again hosting an annual summer preparedness briefing day for council communications and emergency management officers.

The event will cover:

  • 2018-19 summer fire information and education campaign, including Fire Action Week
  • Severe weather seasonal outlook
  • Community safety initiatives and programs.

This year, the afternoon session will contain a professional development focus for local government communicators. Topics to be covered include building resilient communities, communicating with culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and social media best practice during an emergency.

This event is free but registration is essential.
