Welcome
- LGSRG is keen to develop a strategic and positive profile with various organisations within the scope of dealings of the spatial arena and local government.
- We see mutual positives in working together to improve communications, strategies and products where possible, thus benefiting all customers of all our services.
- We will be producing strategies and comment that will be available for use and reference to within local government. These strategies will be active recommendations for comment and potential action within the sector, but quite reasonably, not-prescriptive.
- The other focus will be to work on strategies and issues that confront us as a sector dealing with Regional, State and Federal Government bodies we currently work with as well as Utilities and some private sector organisations
Charter
The purposes of the group, formed in January 2003, has been broadly defined as:
- To represent Local Government in the area of spatial issues
- To develop sector-wide positions on key spatial issues relating to local government.
- To take advantage of opportunities for local government collaboration.
- To generate increased awareness of spatial management issues across the sector.
- To seek resources to progress priority projects on a sector-wide basis.
- To seek solutions to spatial management issues.
- To advocate on behalf of local government to other key stakeholders.
