The MAV is undertaking a public tender for electoral services on behalf of councils for the 2012 general elections, based on the success of the public tender process run in 2008.

More than 60 councils have elected to participate in the tender, which aims to achieve the best value for councils and allow a tailored service which responds to individual municipal requirements.

While we welcome the Ministerial exemption from the normal public tendering requirements for the provision of electoral services, the MAV still intends to undertake this joint procurement to ensure councils’ compliance with their procurement policies, and agreements with the VEC that reflect council's service specifications, terms and conditions.
