MAV Procurement is a unit of the Municipal Association of Victoria focusing on achieving better procurement outcomes for local government.
Ministerial approval for MAV Procurement contracts under section 186
Ministerial approval has been granted under section 186 of the Local Government Act 1989 in relation to contracts entered into by councils through MAV Procurement.
In practical terms, this means that councils are now able to access all MAV Procurement contracts at any time, irrespective of whether that council appointed MAV Procurement as the tendering agent.
Moving forward, the agency appointment process will no longer be required for MAV Procurement contracts.
Better value for local government
By leveraging the combined purchasing power of councils, we can achieve better value on products and services.
Working with our members and suppliers, we reduce procurement costs, simplify processes and improve services while delivering sustainable outcomes for communities.
Councils can minimise compliance risk associated with procurement by working with us.
We deliver training programs and promote innovative technology to improve the procurement capacity and practices of councils.
Research, policy & best practice
Through our partnership with Local Government Victoria, we play an important role in research, policy development and establishing best practice.
