Under a partnership agreement, the Department of Health funds us to assist councils to implement home and community care policy objectives.
Our Home and Community Care and Ageing Strategy Working Group, which is made up of representatives from councils in all regions, meets every two months. This group also forms the MAV / Department of Health HACC Working Group.
In addition, we represent councils on the Home and Community Care Department Advisory Committee.
The Australian Government has identified the need for changes to aged care, as part of the national health reform agenda, to ensure the system is structured to adequately address future needs.
