The White Ribbon Campaign is an international movement to end men’s violence against women. The campaign is a way to engage men and women from diverse areas of local government to work collaboratively to prevent violence against women.
The White Ribbon Australia website contains a range of fact sheets, resources and event information, as well as links to other white ribbon websites around the world.
Engaging in the campaign
Examples of how Victorian local councils have engaged in the campaign can be downloaded and adapted for use in your own council. You will also find an extensive range of resources on the white ribbon website.
We participate in a number of White Ribbon activities including, a staff event and supporting the Melbourne Town Hall White Ribbon Luncheon, the Walk Against Family Violence and Not 1 More events in the CBD.
White Ribbon Day
White Ribbon Day is acknowledged on 25 November each year, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. This begins the 16 days of activism against gender violence which ends on 10 December, the International Day of Human Rights.
