Social cohesion in practice portal

This online collaboration site allows councils to share policies, plans, practices, programs and projects they have developed to:

  • build social cohesion and community resilience
  • support and celebrate diverse residents
  • prevent violent extremism of all types.

The portal was developed in consultation with the Victorian Local Government Multicultural Issues Network (VLGMIN) and aims to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ where Victorian councils can:

  • showcase and share their accumulated wisdom and best-practice
  • browse the existing work of other Victorian councils and potentially build partnerships
  • learn from the experiences of other councils before developing their own work, and avoid reinventing the wheel.

While every municipality is different, our goals are often the same and there are commonalities among resident needs.
