Officer development
We host an extensive program of events and professional development opportunities of relevance to council officers throughout the year.
Officers from member councils can apply to study for the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (Executive) run by Swinburne University of Technology in partnership with the MAV, or participate in the Australian Institute of Company Directors five day course.
We also offer regular procurement training opportunities for staff from all member councils, and insurance best practice forums and events for MAV Insurance members.
Council officers can subscribe to our MAV Yammer groups of interest to their area of work, and we often request council staff with a particular area of expertise to nominate for our committees and working groups on topical policy challenges facing the sector.
All of our scheduled events including forums, workshops and conferences are listed on our Upcoming events page, including course dates and program details, costs (where relevant) and online registrations.
