16 Days Campaign Supporting Resources

This page lists resources that are not specific to the Respect Victoria “Respect Women: Call It Out” campaign, but may be useful to councils and other organisations participating in the 16 Days of Activism.

United Nations resources

The United Nation’s 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence runs from 25 November to 10 December each year. The 2020 global theme was: "Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect!" (PDF - 407KB). Here is a link to the campaign assets.

Walk Against Family Violence (WAFV)

Hosted by Safe Steps with support from Respect Victoria, the Walk Against Family Violence (WAFV) launched the 16 Days of Activism events and community initiatives, encouraging Victorians to stand up and speak out against family violence. Although we couldn’t walk together around Melbourne’s CBD like in previous years, we still helped raise awareness of family violence and violence against women in our communities by participating in a local walk or "walk from home" event (within your area’s restrictions).

For more information about the WAFV, see the Walk Against Family Violence webpage, follow the WAFV Facebook page or email events@safesteps.org.au.

Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Respect Victoria has compiled a Coronavirus (COVID-19) information hub to keep the community informed with up-to-date information, advice and a comprehensive list of service providers to contact during this crisis. The hub also outlines guiding principles to help maintain the focus on primary prevention efforts during the pandemic.
