Company directors course

The Company Directors Course is designed to strengthen your leadership capability and confidence, enabling you to contribute at a higher strategic level and unlock new opportunities in your governance career.

Delivered by the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), this intensive five-day course is contextualised specifically to the local government context, ensuring the content is practical, relevant, and immediately applicable to your role. You will learn directly from experienced professionals in the field, gaining insights grounded in real-world board and governance practice.

MAV-endorsed and delivered in partnership at an agreed price for MAV participants, this course offers excellent value as a professional development investment.

Beyond the learning itself, the course offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded councillors and senior officers from across the sector. You will build strong professional networks, share experiences, and learn from peers facing similar governance challenges.

This time, participants may choose to learn online (once a week, 5 consecutive weeks) or in-person (5 consecutive days).

Online delivery:
Thursdays (10am – 5pm): 6 August; 13 August; 20 August; 27 August; 3 September.
