Rules

Our Rules of Association establish the positions of representatives, board members, deputy presidents and president.

The Rules are determined by State Council.

Sixty per cent of representatives must vote in favour of any proposed amendment to the Rules. The governor in council must also approve the changes.

The current MAV Rules 2022 were published in the Government Gazette (PDF - 4.06MB) of 20 October 2022 (pp. 4211-4255).

The MAV acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of the land, and we offer our respects to their Elders past and present. We advocate for and encourage Victorian councils to strengthen relationships with local Aboriginal communities.
