Victorian Convention of Councillors

The Victorian Convention of Councillors brings together Mayors and Councillors from across the state to connect, learn, and lead. The Convention provides a unique opportunity to reflect on your role, build your leadership capacity, and collaborate with peers who share your commitment to strong local governance.

This year’s theme, “The Future of Local Government,” explored what lies ahead for the sector, offering insights and inspiration across key themes including leadership, financial sustainability, accountability, ethics, participation, and governing for impact.

The Convention features keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and strategic conversations that challenge and support councillors to lead with purpose and confidence.

2025 Victorian Convention of Councillors

The 2025 Convention was held on 21 – 23 March 2025 and featured keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and strategic conversations that challenged and supported councillors to lead with purpose and confidence.

Event details for our next Convention will be announced in 2026.
