Stories from MAVlab Innovation Award partners and councils that will challenge, inspire and spark new thinking.
Join us for a lunchtime series celebrating Victorian local government’s greatest innovation hits.
As we launch the 2026 MAVlab Innovation Awards, this three‑part series shines a light on innovation leaders and the impactful work they are delivering.
Each session features stories from councils and award partners, showcasing how they are responding to challenges and driving meaningful change.
Each session includes 6 to 7 short ‘lightning talk’ case studies, followed by a Q&A session.

The MAV Rural and Regional Planning Conference brings together planners and decision makers to explore the challenges and opportunities shaping rural and regional Victoria – from planning reform and housing affordability to climate resilience and disaster recovery.
With practical case studies, policy discussion and sector collaboration, the conference supports stronger outcomes for regional communities.
Cadet planner tickets are available. Some sessions have limited capacity, so early registration is encouraged.
Discounted Mercure Ballarat accommodation is available for bookings made before 8 May.
