2023 Councillor Service and Mayor Emeritus Awards Nomination form

Nominations are now open for the 2023 Councillor Service and Mayor Emeritus Awards which will be presented at the MAV Annual Conference Gala Dinner on Thursday, 12 October 2023 at Sofitel Melbourne on Collins.

Please note that nominations close Friday 8 September 2023 and will not be accepted after this date.

Important: Before submitting this form, please note:

  • Nominations can only be submitted by council officers. For example: Council Support Officers, Governance Officers, Executive Assistance and CEOs.
  • Nominations must be endorsed by the Council CEO.

Award Types

Councillors who have served 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35 cumulative years for any Victorian municipality are eligible for an award. Periods served over multiple municipalities that are not necessarily in consecutive years are counted as eligible service period. These awards will recognise periods of service that conclude in 31 October 2023.

The Mayor Emeritus Awards are open to current councillors who have served three or more terms as Mayor. For the purpose of these awards, 12 months constitutes a full term and includes terms that concludes in either October or November 2023 based on Mayoral elections.

This award can only be received once by a mayor.

If service comprises terms for more than one council and/or prior to amalgamation, please indicate the name of the council to which each period of service relates.
