How to Become an MAV Preferred Supplier

MAV Procurement develops and manages collaborative panel contracts on behalf of Victorian councils and associate members, providing access to pre-qualified suppliers across a wide range of goods, services and works.

Our panels are designed to deliver efficient, compliant and value for money procurement outcomes, while creating opportunities for suppliers to engage with the local government sector through a streamlined and transparent process.

MAV Procurement periodically establishes and refreshes panel contracts through a competitive open tender process. Suppliers interested in working with councils via MAV panels must:

  • Respond to a public tender released by MAV Procurement
  • Demonstrate capability, experience, and compliance with the tender requirements
  • Successfully meet the evaluation criteria to be appointed to a panel.

Only suppliers who meet the required standards through this process are appointed as MAV preferred suppliers.

Current Panel Opportunities

All MAV Procurement tenders are advertised via Tenderlink. Suppliers can register on the platform free of charge to receive notifications of relevant opportunities. When registering, please ensure you opt in to email notifications, so you don’t miss upcoming tenders.

Suppliers are also encouraged to follow the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV) on LinkedIn to stay informed about new and upcoming procurement opportunities as they are released.

This approach supports a fair, open and transparent procurement process for all suppliers.

Working with MAV Panels

Once appointed, suppliers may be engaged by Councils and associate members through MAV panel contracts using:

  • VendorPanel (preferred method) for sourcing and quotation processes
  • Council procurement systems, where applicable.

Suppliers are expected to:

  • Respond to council requests for quotation (RFXs) in a timely and competitive manner
  • Maintain current insurances, compliance documentation and company details via VendorPanel
  • Support accurate reporting of engagement and spend in line with contract requirements.
